Paul David Hammer (b. 1971) is an American born artist. As a young man he became cultured to wood as an artistic medium while working as a carpenter in the summer mansions of New Hampshire. He notes David Ellsworth as his early influence, with his organic style and great eye for “reading” a piece of wood.

Paul’s philosophy is to let the wood be the shape it wants to be and maintain its own “life force” rather than forcing a concept onto it. He allows the wood to evolve with his conceptual idea while keeping its natural identity. His art reflects the essence of the wood and of the Artist.

His work has been juried and award winning. Continually evolving his work can be seen throughout galleries in the United States. Paul wants people to enjoy his art, and captivate them, just as his early influencers did for him.

Offered here are Paul's wine stoppers which are juried into a collection; The Museum Collection, The Estate Collection, and The House Collection. Each piece falls into one of these categories based on time to complete, wood types, and design. All pieces are unique, original, and hand-crafted.
