This unique and vintage Boxcar table is completely built by hand. The wood is reclaimed floor planks from retired railway boxcars, built in the 1920's and 1930's. This rustic wood has traveled the rails of America for decades and wears the story of its life on its surface. It has a rich color with beautiful character marks, as well as natural distressing that many attempt to replicate. The planks are formed in a butcher block style which makes the wood stable and prevents bowing and cupping. This wood is very versatile and in rare supply which is what makes it special! We sell many of these tables and it is such a pleasure for me to build. This table can be left as natural and raw as you like or can also be refined by not taking away its character. We use a wax finish for protection. It is made to order in a couple of standard sizes. See the drop-down menu for details and prices. We not only make tables out of this wood but desks and coffee tables as well. Custom sizes (outside of this listing) are no problem; all you have to do is contact me with your dimensions for a quote. Our goal is to make it look like you had your house built around your table! My current build time is 4-6 weeks. Remember that this table is built to order, so please expect some slight variation in your top's color and grain appearance – all wood is different. Shipping is $150 – this includes wrapping, palletizing and freight service to your nearest terminal anywhere in the 48 states. If you prefer door-to-door delivery, there may be an increase in price (due to lift gate and residential fees). As a courtesy, I will do my best to find a terminal that is close to your residence. Thanks for checking out my handcrafted furniture.

KS WoodCraft is a Dallas-based custom furniture design and fabrication studio specializing in bespoke hardwood furniture for residential, hospitality, and commercial environments. Founded in 2015 by craftsman and designer Ken Schumacher, KS WoodCraft has built a reputation for creating statement pieces that balance architectural design, material integrity, and long-term durability.
Each piece is designed and fabricated in our McKinney, Texas workshop, where traditional craftsmanship meets modern design engineering. Our work ranges from one-of-a-kind residential furniture to large-scale installations for corporate offices, hotels, and hospitality spaces. Recent projects can be found in environments including AT&T Headquarters, Hilton, Hyatt, and WinStar Resorts.
KS WoodCraft is known for its extensive selection of materials, including domestic hardwoods, exotic species, and reclaimed timbers sourced from around the world. From century-old French Oak to reclaimed Venetian pilings, every material is selected for both its character and performance, allowing each piece to carry a story while serving a functional purpose.
While residential projects remain a core part of our work, KS WoodCraft has expanded into hospitality, corporate, and commercial environments where custom furniture plays an essential role in defining space, improving flow, and elevating user experience. Our approach allows furniture to integrate seamlessly into open-concept and architecturally driven spaces.
Our mission is simple: to translate our clients’ ideas into enduring furniture that feels intentional, functional, and uniquely suited to its environment.
Principles of Our Design
Narrative
Every project begins with understanding how a piece will live within a space. We collaborate closely with clients, designers, and architects to define purpose, function, and constraints before design begins. This process ensures that each piece feels integrated — as though the space was designed around it.
Craftsmanship
All KS WoodCraft furniture is built by hand in our McKinney workshop. From concept development and engineering to material selection and fabrication, every step reflects a deliberate focus on precision, longevity, and detail. Our goal is not simply to build furniture, but to create pieces that improve with age.
Sustainability
We maintain a strong commitment to responsible sourcing and material reuse. Many of our projects incorporate reclaimed hardwoods with significant historical value, including centuries-old French Oak and Venetian Oak. These materials allow us to preserve history while creating modern, functional pieces designed for decades of use.
Flexibility
Because every piece is custom-built, we work within a range of material and design options to align with project budgets without compromising quality. Our tiered approach allows clients to balance aesthetics, durability, and investment while achieving a truly custom result.
