This table was CNC carved from a reclaimed solid-core door. The door was manufactured by Mohawk Flush Doors, Inc in 1964 with a Birch-ply exterior. This Birch is different from what you'll see today, the grain is much tighter and full of figuring. The table is pictured without edge-banding, a 2" border of solid wood, which will be stained accordingly and added upon ordering, and is included in the table top price. The base is constructed of plywood circles that were scrap from sheet-processing. I machined a hole in the center of each circle to fit a 2" pipe that runs from the table, down into the base. The base is filled with approximately 40lbs of concrete and capped with the bottom disk. This particular table is finished out in polycrylic on the surface and shellac on the base. I can finish the surface with whatever topcoats you prefer (lacquer, shellac, french polish, urethane, polyurethane, etc…).

My name is Kevin Edwards, I have always been a "hands on" type of guy. I started building with Lego's as early as I can remember, always fascinated with creating something cool out of a bunch of otherwise, normal looking blocks. It didn't take me long to figure out that I loved working with my hands, and by the age of 17 I had started a career in maintenance. Over the years, I've worked on all kinds of things - from kitchen sinks to semi-conductor fabrication equipment, and just about everything in between.
WoodExperimental is what I (unofficially) call my home-based shop where "I get to make my own Lego's" (in a sense) and do what I love-build all kinds of things from seemingly normal blocks. However, my shop isn't your typical garage workshop, with a 4'x8' 3 Axis CNC Router, I'm capable of things most aren't. And like my background, my shop isn't limited to just one area of expertise. I can process sheet materials (woods, plastics, composites and aluminum), design and fabricate signs, parts, furniture and more.

For Katelyn's Dining TableOverall I was very happy to work with Kevin. When I wasn't satisfied with certain things he was diligent at trying to correct things. The project took a little longer than expected but it arrived in good condition and is excellent quality. I believe he is a fair and honest guy who customers can trust. I think this project was a learning experience for both of us so I would communicate my preferences more in the future if he does another project for me. Although he was newer to the website, he seemed very knowledgable and skilled in constructing wooden items. He also provided better prices than others and the quality was never compromised.
