Contemporary Or Mid Century Bookcase Or Room Divider Availble In Different Hardwoods
Custom Solid Hardwood Contemporary or Mid Century Shadowbox Bookcase 60" x 30" x 12" by mr2 Woodworking The bookcase can be provided with an open or enclosed back and can be made in Poplar (shown), Cherry, Oak or Walnut. - High quality solid hardwood boards are used. Fully assembled. - The shelves and vertical runners of each bookcase are attached by wood screws covered with hardwood dowels. - The shadow boxes, shelves and partitions are attached by wood screws and covered with hardwood dowels - All of the boards have been planed and hand sanded before assembly, sanding and finishing. - Multiple boards are used to achieve the 10" minimum shelf width. Biscuits with compression gluing is utilized to bond the boards and secure the flush joints. - For structural rigidity and appearance, two aprons on both sides of bookcase bottom and two facings on the top are provided. - The enclosed back option is made with 3/16" Birch plywood which is stained and rubbed with multiple coats of Tung oil. The back is secured with brass screws. - The bookcase is finished with multiple hand rubbed applications of paste wax on all surfaces. The surfaces will patina over time. Paste wax can be applied and buffed if the customer wants to eliminate the patina. - A sample of the finish will be sent to the customer for approval prior to finishing. - The bookcase is bubble wrapped and protected with multiple layers of cardboard and then placed in a carton. - Shipment of the bookcase will be completed with 7-8 weeks from placement of the order based upon present backlog. - No changes to specifications without customer approval. - Residential shipment. *If actual cost when shipped is less, a refund will be provided at that time. Based upon present backlogs, the delivery schedule will be extended on custom made pieces. Items in stock can also have an extended time period for shipment.

Each piece is hand made and individualized to meet each customers’ needs and requirements. I maintain close communications with each customer on the status including pictures as the piece is assembled and finished.
Any changes or improvements to the the piece are reviewed and approved prior to implementing each change.

I had a custom job request and even after approval of his drawing, he re-worked one small item to add stability to the book shelf (of which I never would have noticed nor thought-of, plus I already signed off on it - how often does that happen in life?!). He clearly cares about his work and shows judgment of a true professional. He sent me 4 samples of the stains to ensure I liked the color of the piece; he sent pictures throughout the process, at each step and I know I will love the piece after I open it. I haven't had a chance to open/inspect the final product due to work on my house but I would definitely work with him again (and will update my review after my house isn't torn apart).

For Custom Mr2 Solid Cherry Shadowbox Bookcase4.8My wife and I searched hard for a "Shadowbox Bookcase" for our living room. All we found were particle board monstrosities, or overpriced manufactured hollow versions. We wanted something in solid hardwood, preferably cherry. Rick provided this. His quote was reasonable, his design was exactly what we requested, and his communication was outstanding. He started and completed the project on schedule. Delivery was timely. There was a small glitch in the delivery, and Rick apologized profusely for this, but it was totally out of his control, and I believe him when he says that it had never happened before with this shipper. We managed to take delivery of the item, which was exceedingly well wrapped and protected. We are proud to have a custom piece of Rick Ricks craftsmanship in our living room.
