Large-Scale Charcoal Drawing
This drawing is one of four in a series I did of the Danish model Freja Beha Erichsen. There is something about those photos that I found intriguing and wanted to recreate them on a large scale with charcoal. This is the first drawing in the series. I had wanted to explore depth of field in a drawing, and this image not only grabbed my attention because of her intense stare and cool style but also because it was focused in the foreground while displaying blurred feathery hair in the background. It was the perfect balance. *Drawings are shipped matted and framed. Dimensions - 38" X 26"

I discovered my passion for drawing when I was two years old. I really feel that it's something that chose me, and not the other way around. Some of my favorite childhood memories are of when I received art supplies for Christmas. I was fortunate enough to have an amazing family to support me and my passion.
I went to high school at the Boston Arts Academy where I was able to work on becoming a better artist every day. BAA is a fantastic school and I really felt like I was part of a family there, and in a place where I grew so much as an artist and as a person.
After I graduated, I attended college at the Art Institute of Boston. I learned the necessary skills to become a successful artist while being given the freedom to express myself in my own way. I produced some of my best work in those classrooms and continue to use the skills I learned there to this day.
I'm always looking for more ways to put my artwork out there, so I was thrilled when I discovered CustomMade! I love that there is this great way for creators and lovers of hand-made products to come together. I am proud to be a part of CustomMade and can't wait to make artwork for my customers!
