Forrest J. Stone Woodworking & Metal Fabrication
Forrest J. Stone is a designer and woodworker/welder based out of
Portland ME. He works in a one man shop and creates original furniture from wood and steel.
Forrest’s furniture is a mix of early American craft movement
functionality and mid-century modern lines and forms. He seeks to
create heirloom quality pieces that will be enriched by the patina of
time and everyday use. Forrest has a love for hand tools and traditional woodworking techniques and prefers to do things by hand. He enjoys working within the boundaries of functionality while striving to create something that is visually striking and at peace with itself. He believes that furniture can have both a powerful and quiet presence.
Forrest enjoys working with clients, designers, and artists to generate ideas and products that reflect each individuals unique wants and needs. He works with both reclaimed and new lumber and can fabricate mild and stainless steel as well as aluminum.
Forrest is a 2012 graduate of Massachusetts
Collage of Art and Design with a degree in sculpture and life long woodworker.
