This unique table features a hand-distressed "Old World" gate top with a traditional style base. The entire table is finished in a rich, hand-applied oil that provides durability as well as an attractive look. Photos simply cannot do justice to this beautiful table. Individually custom made; choose a dining table, hall table, end table, console table, sofa table, etc. Your table can be made to look like an old door or gate — or, I can build it with curved ends, square ends, etc. The table shown features hand-hammered decorative iron elements with "acid wash" patinas. These decorative iron accents are optional, and other styles are available. Please inquire with any questions. From start to finish, my custom made tables are skillfully handcrafted to create truly one-of-a-kind works of functional art. They are built to last using traditional woodworking and ironworking techniques. A bit of (tongue-in-cheek) personal history:
When I was 9 years old, I stepped on a board with a rusty nail and became hooked on woodworking.
When I was 12 years old, I watched my father arc welding a project in his fabrication shop. After the blindness subsided, I bought a welding helmet and went to work . . .
The first time I accidentally hit my thumb with a hammer, I yelled at the top of my lungs in a foreign language. The second time, I went out and bought a smaller hammer.
If I had a dollar for every splinter I've pulled out of my hands, I could go to law school. Then I would be able to sue the trees.

The finished 'railroad spike' shelf&items rack is truly magnificent.....it is beautiful! Both the craftsmanship and the 'old wood patina' is most pleasing to the eye. I am overly pleased. ......and, it makes my leather furniture look good. I would suggest to you that my 4spike length shelf is quite heavy (quality old wood) - and care be taken to its mounting. I am going to secure mine to wall studs. I wish to have ordered a 5spike length - but still quite satisfied. "well done Ray!"
