Original Art by Laura Ashley "Blue Grid," 2015 24"x48"x3/4" Made to order or customize this piece. This piece is created by cutting and assembling pieces of sheet metal into a modern geometric pattern onto a stained solid wood base, which has been lightly stained a Grey tone to still show the natural wood grain. It's also accented with modern painted brush strokes using acrylic paints (Black/Aqua/Ultramarine Blue). I'm so proud of this piece; the colors and shapes really pop. All metal is hand cut to have a more organic, industrial feel. The sides of the wood base are painted black for a more finished look. I finish each piece by applying 2-3 coats of a Polyurethane wood protectant to protect the wood and prevent scratches. The size is 48x24 and is 3/4 of an inch in depth. Your made to order piece will be similar to the shown piece. Because this is made to order, we can also customize any aspect of the piece for you, including colors and size. CUSTOMIZATION: - Choose accent color(s): If you'd like to change some of the colors, let's discuss your ideas. - Choose a wood stain: Wheat, Grey (as shown), Black/Ebony or Dark Walnut - Choose a size: If you'd like this piece to be larger, I can recreate on 60" x 24". I design and handcraft Modern Wall Art using Wood, Sheet Metal and Paint.
The inspiration for my wood art came when I got a new home and needed to decorate it. I bought all this cool, modern decor but couldn't find anything I really loved to put on my walls that would match with my style. This was when I decided I wanted to handcraft wall art that I myself would want to buy-- art that made a statement, looked expensive, decorative and modern. I then thought of using organic materials like solid wood and metal and accenting them with pops of color and modern design.
Most of my work is made-to-order. I can recreate any of the pieces you see in my shop or we can work together to customize the perfect piece for your home. To inquire about my lead time or to discuss any ideas you have, just reach out and I will respond promptly.
