Original Art by Laura Ashley "Mod Colorblock," 2019 36"x60"x3/4" Made to order or customize this modern wall decor piece. This piece is created by hand painting a color block design on a stained solid wood base, which has been lightly stained a Special Walnut tone to still show the natural wood grain. It's also accented with sheet metal. All metal is hand cut and is galvanized to prevent rusting. The sides of the wood base are painted black for a more finished look. I finish each piece by applying a Polyurethane wood protectant to protect the wood and prevent scratches. The size of each panel is 60x12 and is 3/4 of an inch in depth-- 60x36 total. Your made to order piece will be similar to the shown piece. Because this is made to order, we can also customize any aspect of the piece for you, including colors and size. I design and handcraft Modern Wall Art using Wood, Sheet Metal and Paint.
The inspiration for my wood art came when I got a new home and needed to decorate it. I bought all this cool, modern decor but couldn't find anything I really loved to put on my walls that would match with my style. This was when I decided I wanted to handcraft wall art that I myself would want to buy-- art that made a statement, looked expensive, decorative and modern. I then thought of using organic materials like solid wood and metal and accenting them with pops of color and modern design.
Most of my work is made-to-order. I can recreate any of the pieces you see in my shop or we can work together to customize the perfect piece for your home. To inquire about my lead time or to discuss any ideas you have, just reach out and I will respond promptly.
