This handsome cutting board is made from Maple, Purpleheart and Jatoba. Both sides are usable due to the ambidextrous finger grooves routered into each end of the board. This is a solid piece and will last for many years even under hard use. Over time the board will become dry. Under normal use, you will want to apply a coat of readily available food-grade mineral oil to preserve and beautify the wood about once a month. Only hand wash please. Why "End Grain" you may ask? Great question. The end grain is preferred over the long grain as the blade of the knife tends to pass between the wood fibers as opposed to actually cutting them as in the case of cutting across the grain. Making a board this way also takes over twice as long due to the multiple steps involved and the end grain is harder to work with. Hence the higher cost you might notice as compared to a long grain cutting board. The added durability and style are worth it. Overall size as shown is approximately 12" x 18" x 1.5" thick. Finished simply with food-grade Mineral Oil. Please inquire about other materials, sizes and patterns.

Chris did a beautiful job - it was just what I wanted! The only small issue was that I was hoping to receive it by my anniversary and it arrived 2 days late - not a big deal really, but would have been nice to have it sooner. Overall, it's perfect and I'm very happy! I would definitely use Chris again.
Very happy with the final product. Will definitely use Chris again. He was very attentive to what I wanted and delivered product in a timely manner.
Chris was nice to work with. He had good communication and provided a proof to make sure I got what I expected. I would recommend him.
I am very happy with the finished wooden sign and i would highly recommend Chris as he made exactly what I wanted and was able to rush me the Product in time for the holidays.
Chris was awesome to work with. He put together a detailed mockup very quickly, was able to design a visually creative piece based on a limited description of what I wanted, finished and delivered it quickly, and the quality was everything that I would want, all for a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend working with him.
