Suspension Bridge Inspired Desk

I built this desk with the inspration of how suspention bridges are constructed. It features a solid Cherry top that is 2 inches thick, 6 feet long and 3 feet wide. The base is steel with 2 layers of protection to prevent rust while keeping the raw look. This thing Looks and Is heavy. It demands attention! Each braided steel cable in the front has been individually welded in place. The welds are on the top and undersides so they are unseen. The sides of the desk are just as they appear, nothing is faux, each piece is held on with the carriage bolts shown in the photos.
