The Kysar Stool. Designed by: Joey Alvarez. Dimensions 24" H. 18" W. 14" SEAT. The Kysar stool was inspired from the iconic Shaker chair. We did our best to keep all joinery traditional and exposed to show the true beauty of what is often hidden. We realize sitting in a seat for excessive amounts of time cant be avoided, so we take our time scooping out each seat for optimal comfort. Includes a hand rubbed polymerized oil / varnish brew, with a hand buffed furniture grade wax finish. Available in most domestic hardwoods.

Joseph Ryan is a small production furniture design and build studio located in the heart of Portland, Oregon. Every piece of furniture we produce starts at the local FSC certified lumber yard. We hand select each board to ensure our furniture is built with the best lumber, and quality possible.

All products we make are handmade by us in our humble shop in Oregon. Trees grow really slow, so we do our best to maximize each piece of timber to cut down on extra waste. Additionally, we prefer to use a low - 0% Volatile organic compound finish making all of our products family friendly, and Eco-conscious.

    Joseph is nothing short of AMAZING! He went back and forth with me to come to the perfect design and he completely understood the look I was going for, as well as the right materials to achieve that! He sent updated photos along the way. I would like to point out that he was finishing my piece in the midst of the Oregon fires and that I am sorry for the losses he and his loved ones faced. Joseph seems to be a master craftsman AND a really wonderful person!
