A lot of people like the idea of owning a guitar made from American woods. There are lots of nice choices for back & side woods. Both for tone and appearance. Black Walnut, White Oak, Maple, Hickory, Black Locust, Koa, etc… I build guitars in my shop in Maine. I use old school methods and design features. Fish glue construction. Wood bindings. Top and back radius of older Martin guitars. More info on request. Please feel free to contact me to discuss building your unique dream guitar. I offer a lifetime warranty to the original owner. Handmade steel string acoustic guitars by Jeff Monkman. I use a lot of older Martin specs as well as a few modern concepts. My guitars are not replicas but they do lean to more old school tone, look and feel.
I've played guitar for over 40 years and have owned over 100 acoustic guitars. My goal is to create a players guitar full of tone and with a great feel. Hopefully my experience translates into creating this type of guitar for others to enjoy.
The number of older specs that I use are too numerous to list here. Please contact me for more info.
