Custom Hand-Painted Step-Stool

Strong Wood is a wood-centric art studio in Berkeley, Ca. While growing up in the foothills of Los Angeles I was surrounded by wood working. Both my father and grandfather were master carpenters. At the grand old age of two I was already following my dad around the job site wearing his tool belt and nailing pieces of scrap wood together. My grandfather was a boat builder and cabinet maker from Finland. I loved to sit in his shop, watch football on his tiny black and white television and watch him work magic with wood. He always took time to explain the processes of good craftsmanship and to teach all he knew about the job he loved. I followed a digital design path after college but always dreamed of someday starting my own wood working studio. STRONG WOOD STUDIO is the culmination of that dream. I am dedicated to following in the footsteps of the masters that went before me. I work diligently everyday to make them proud.
