HomePortraits are original bas-relief table top sized replicas of a past or present home, school, favorite place or person. Scale drawings are created after taking and/or viewing photographs of each subject. Clay is rolled into a slab and the scale drawing is then transferred to the clay. Then the fun begins! The HomePortrait takes shape as clay is carefully removed creating a three dimensional bas-relief image. Details are added as the clay begins to dry. Stands are created which complement the scene. Two or three weeks later, after the clay has completely dried, the HomePortrait is kiln fired and then hand painted.

Excellent with superior kindness as the project was being done from start to end she send me photos and explain what she was doing.
