This dining room table was made for a client that did not want the legs of the table to move when the top is spread to accept the extension leaves. We accomplished this by adding stretchers between the aprons of the table so that the hardware could be mounted within the profile of the table and and still allow for the storage of the extension leaves within the table. The top and extension leaves of this table are bread boarded and we finished the table with a high build lacquer. Table dimensions: 60"L x 34"W x 30"H closed 82"L x 34" W x 30" H with extension leaves

After studying 17th Century furniture making at The North Bennet Street School in Boston, Massachusetts I founded Matthew Cohen Fine Furniture. For years, I created custom pieces in my studio in Estes Park, Colorado. A love of skiing drew me into ski making, so I changed the name of the company to Westes Woodworks to better capture the broader nature of my designs.
