Hello! All items are handmade in our tiny Brooklyn shop. We take every effort to ensure that everything we make will last a lifetime. Nothing leaves the shop that we don't personally love! The key to the lock will be mailed prior to the completion of the desk. We will not share with you the secret to opening it. Made from the pairing of solid domestic cherry and exotic bubinga, this desk comes together to take a simple and elegant form. The three way miter joints are meticulously and finely cut to create a unique and extraordinary appearance. Free Local Delivery within NYC. We love to build anything your imagination can create, so if you'd like anything custom, just shoot us a message. All the best, Summerville and Duke

We are Stephen (Duke) and Jonathan (Summerville). We met in 2013, in Brooklyn, New York and instantly bonded over our love of creative design and enthusiasm for building things. At the time, Stephen was in the IT sector, and I was working at a metal shop refurbishing antiques. It wasn't long before we scraped enough money together to rent a 10' x 10' workspace…but the table saw took up the entire room! Fortunately, we were able to upgrade from a tiny shop to a small shop after six months and so managed to keep our sanity. In July of 2017, I got married to a Michigander and relocated to Detroit. While some of our fans worried of an imminent breakup, we assure you nothing could be more off the mark! Summerville & Duke now boast dual locations: Brooklyn and Detroit. We are constantly developing new ideas and designs for clients, and look forward to keeping up our online presence as well.
Stephen’s experience with engineering combined with my background in metal work and restoration make us a unique and capable team. Over the past few years, we have taken on a variety of projects in the New York area and are excited to keep developing a rounded portfolio. We are looking forward to seeing what projects you might throw our way, and will continue to churn out our own ideas in the meantime. Feel free to reach out to us with or without your own designs. We’ll meet you where you are and take you the rest of the way!

For Handmade Industrial Steel Shelf BracketI requested custom shelf brackets and provided rough specs; Jonathan was able to take that and turn it in to the perfect results. I picked up as I was going through Detroit, he even killed it with a restaurant recommendation upon request. Thanks again!
