Craftsman's Style Grandfather Clock

$4,500

I designed and built this grandfather clock about 10 years ago as a wedding gift for one of my children, and have since built several others. The elegant simplicity is reminiscent of the Arts and Crafts furniture movement and makes it at home in both contemporary and traditional settings. This heirloom quality grandfather clock is constructed of the best available hardwoods using mortise and tenon joinery, a technique craftsmen have used for centuries. The photograph shows the clock made from cherry; you may request any wood you want but the price will vary based on your selection. The typical clock face used in an Arts and Crafts style clock is a simple paper face, attached to a plywood backing mounted in front of the movement. Metal face designs are also available but are priced separately. The finished clock is 80 inches tall, 19 inches wide and 14 inches deep. The clock movement is a chain driven Westminster Chime, which can be turned off if you prefer. The 8 day chain driven movement is precision built from hardened brass with machined nickel plated steel. It features an automatic beat adjustment and is simple to operate. Included are black serpentine hands, a polished brass pendulum bob, chains, brass weight shells, and weight fillings and it comes with a 12 month guarantee. I will deliver the clock personally within 200 miles of Huntsville, Alabama 35802 for $300.00. I will unload, level the clock, and install the weights and pendulum. Contact me for availability for delivery for distances greater than 200 miles; otherwise it will be delivered by a shipping company. You will pay only the actual shipping cost, and the clock will be insured for the full amount.

For over 30 years, I have built custom furniture for customers, friends and family. I take pride in each and every one of my woodworking projects. I use both traditional joinery methods and modern techniques in the construction of my pieces, which allows me to tailor the features I design for my clients. I always offer premium material and finish choices for each project, so my customers can match their existing decor or select a striking contrast.

I focus on the Craftsman and Arts and Crafts styles but have experience with Shaker, modern, and many other aesthetics.

My custom home remodeling business has afforded me unique opportunities to build custom furniture for my client's homes. In addition to designing and creating sets of cabinets for particular spaces, I have built fireplace mantles, corner seating, entertainment centers, custom mirrors, and outdoor furniture.

Some of the other Custom Projects I have built include:
Grandfather and mantle clocks
Musical instruments
Mantle Clocks
Jewelry Boxes
High Chairs
End Tables
Wooden Children's toys
Speakers
Entertainment centers

As a one man shop, my design process starts with the concept for the piece I am planning. I create sketches, drawings, and 3D models to capture the details of the design. On contract projects, I meet with the customer to make sure that they are seeing the features that make sense to them. Next, I select the raw material, usually starting with raw lumber. Then I begin the construction of the piece. After the assembly is complete, I finish the work to match the customer's wishes.
