It is put through an extensive heat treat process to produce a quality blade that will perform beautifully. The blade measures about 5" long and about 5/32" thick. The knife comes with a hand stitched leather sheath.

I have been making knives for about 20 years. I first got into it after reading a book on knife making at my library, and I taught myself from there, gleaning information from other books, and the web.
Building knives was a good match for another early interest of mine, the outdoors, woods, and back country. I love the idea of being able to walk into a trackless wilderness with only a good knife, and have the skills to live comfortably. I haven't quite reached that level, but I continue to study and practice these skills today, and it serves well to inform my blade design and construction.
I also began forging some years back, and I enjoy making useful and decorative items with the simple and old methods of working iron and steel.

For Handmade Custom Skinning Knife5.0I haven’t had a chance to use my skinning knife yet but I have gave it a good inspection and this is a beautiful piece. Simple and elegant with excellent fit and finish. Sent pics to a few buddies in the know on this stuff and they all wanted to know who the maker was. Especially when they heard the price! Not a lot of communication but all accurate and timely. Can’t wait to put it to work!

In my communications with him I found him to be honest, straightforward, and easy to understand. When I received the knife and sheath they were both in good order and ready to go to work, but there were some things I wanted changed. I contacted the craftsman, explained what I wanted done, shipped them both back to him, and he made the changes I requested and shipped them back. I now have the knife I wanted, and I got it the way I wanted it. I will order from this craftsman again,
