I have been making knives for about 20 years. I first got into it after reading a book on knife making at my library, and I taught myself from there, gleaning information from other books, and the web.
Building knives was a good match for another early interest of mine, the outdoors, woods, and back country. I love the idea of being able to walk into a trackless wilderness with only a good knife, and have the skills to live comfortably. I haven't quite reached that level, but I continue to study and practice these skills today, and it serves well to inform my blade design and construction.
I also began forging some years back, and I enjoy making useful and decorative items with the simple and old methods of working iron and steel.

Dec 29, 2020There were some delays (some unavoidable) but the craftsman kept in constant contact with me when I emailed him, and would usually return emails within three hours or less. In my communications with him I found him to be honest, straightforward, and easy to understand. When I received the knife and sheath they were both in good order and ready to go to work, but there were some things I wanted changed. I contacted the craftsman, explained what I wanted done, shipped them both back to him, and he made the changes I requested and shipped them back. I now have the knife I wanted, and I got it the way I wanted it. I will order from this craftsman again,

Mar 5, 2018I have been a fan of the "Sharp Finger" style of hunting knife for many years. This style is small, compact to carry, perfect for any camp duty that may arise. But skinning is where it excells! Williams' hand made version is true to form with a quality build on classic materials. Love the antler scales. Perfect blade. I'm a fan.
