My latest hand forged knives are at www.firecreekforge.com This is the Wilderness Classic. Based on the well known and loved Kephart design, the Wilderness Classic sports a beautiful "heat treat" finish on the blade. The 1095 high carbon steel blade is flat ground and has a 4.5" cutting edge. The knife is heat treated for edge holding ability and toughness. Blade thickness is 1/8". The 'Classic' has the efficient and comfortable handle the Kephart design is known for: rounded with no protrusions for a multi-versatile grip and nothing to create a hot spot on the hand during use. The handle scales are secured Loveless bolts and epoxy. The handle material is available in two thicknesses: approximately 1/4" thick per side, or approximately 3/8" thick per side. The 1/4" thick handle scales are comfortably rounded and provide a slimmer handle thickness with a somewhat rectangle cross section, as preferred by some. The 3/8" thick handle scales offer a fuller and more oval handle cross section, for those who like that better. The Wilderness classic is a 100% hand made from scratch knife, made to be used by the outdoor enthusiast, hunter, craftsman, camper, or anyone who needs a practical, quality cutting tool.

Fire Creek Forge (home of Elijah Williams Knives) provides quality, one of a kind custom made knives and metal items, hand made from scratch.
I have been making knives for about 20 years. I first got into it after reading a book on knife making at my library, and I taught myself from there, gleaning information from other books, and the web.
Building knives was a good match for another early interest of mine, the outdoors, woods, and back country. I love the idea of being able to walk into a trackless wilderness with only a good knife, and have the skills to live comfortably. I haven't quite reached that level, but I continue to study and practice these skills today, and it serves well to inform my blade design and construction.
I also began forging some years back, and I enjoy making useful and decorative items with the simple and old methods of working iron and steel.
Excellent craftsmanship that will last a lifetime. Very nice knife, thank you!
Just received latest knife. Looks and feels amazing and excited to use it on first canoe trip of the season.
While the project was a bit delayed, the final knife, a gift to my son, exceeded expectations. Beautiful workmanship and something he will always treasure. Have ordered a knife for myself. Recommend highly.
Hands down the most beautiful knife I have ever laid hands on. I highly recommend the wood honey mesquite handle. Thanks Elija!
This knife is a true piece of art and masterfully crafted. I am extremely happy with the finished product and would order another piece from the maker any day of the week.
