For the latest available knives visit www.firecreekforge.com The Wilderness Scout III from Fire Creek Forge. This knife is designed to take care of you in the wilderness, the camp, or just your backyard. Tough enough to baton with when cutting kindling; deft enough to dress out game and slice vegetables for the pot. We make the WSIII from 80CrV2. This is a very tough, high carbon steel. It is heat treated for optimum edge retention and toughness at a target hardeness of 60-61 RC. Other favorite steels like O1 and 1095 also available. The handle is made of canvas Micarta, which becomes more "grippy" when wet. It is secured with handle bolts and epoxy for "bomb proof" construction. A lanyard hole makes easy tethering for use over water or deep snow. We pair the WSIII with a full grain hand stitched leather sheath. It can be carried with the traditional belt loop, or with a dangler attachment from the D-ring.

Fire Creek Forge (home of Elijah Williams Knives) provides quality, one of a kind custom made knives and metal items, hand made from scratch.
I have been making knives for about 20 years. I first got into it after reading a book on knife making at my library, and I taught myself from there, gleaning information from other books, and the web.
Building knives was a good match for another early interest of mine, the outdoors, woods, and back country. I love the idea of being able to walk into a trackless wilderness with only a good knife, and have the skills to live comfortably. I haven't quite reached that level, but I continue to study and practice these skills today, and it serves well to inform my blade design and construction.
I also began forging some years back, and I enjoy making useful and decorative items with the simple and old methods of working iron and steel.
Excellent craftsmanship that will last a lifetime. Very nice knife, thank you!
Just received latest knife. Looks and feels amazing and excited to use it on first canoe trip of the season.
While the project was a bit delayed, the final knife, a gift to my son, exceeded expectations. Beautiful workmanship and something he will always treasure. Have ordered a knife for myself. Recommend highly.
Hands down the most beautiful knife I have ever laid hands on. I highly recommend the wood honey mesquite handle. Thanks Elija!
This knife is a true piece of art and masterfully crafted. I am extremely happy with the finished product and would order another piece from the maker any day of the week.
