At Red Jake, we are responsible for every step of our product from the forest to final product. Almost all our wood was saved from landfills or wood piles as a result of storms, new construction, or the death of the tree. This product is made to order and has a 2 week lead time before shipping. I send photos for your approval before I ship it out. You can request a custom size to fit your needs. No two pieces are the same, but will put every effort into making it look as close as possible as the one in the pictures. The frame around the artwork is constructed of Walnut hardwood with a natural Danish Oil stain. The artwork consists of oak, walnut, cherry and cedar cut ½ to 1 inch thick. This piece measure 27 by 25 inches but can be custom made to any size. The piece looks best in multiples of 10 inches wide by 10 inches tall. Each art piece then has four coats of low VOC water base sealer applied to preserve the beauty of the wood. I also include a wall mounting system that will hold the weight and insure the piece remains straight. The product at this size sells from $230.

After 27 years in the U.S. Army, Red Jake’s founder, Rusty Sears decided to make his passion his profession. Having made pieces for himself for years and after purchasing a wood mill, Rusty gradually began to make furniture and artwork for neighbors and friends. Thru disciplined customer focus and attention to detail, he built a loyal customer base. Although much of our time is spent in the shop working on projects, we still spend enough time in the woods gathering logs to keep our hearts happy!
At Red Jake, we are responsible for every step of our product from the forest to final product. Almost all our wood was saved from landfills or wood piles as a result of storms, new construction, or the death of the tree. We mill the wood to meet our needs, dry the wood in a solar kiln, and make pieces to order.
Located in the Shenandoah Valley of northern Virginia, we proudly limit our wood to those found in the area. Our wood shed is filled mainly with Black Walnut, White Oak, Red Oak and Cherry. We have our signature pieces that you’ll find posted on the site, but we also can custom make pieces that meet your needs.
