These Rods are part of the Base Ten System. This base ten set consists of 10 Rods. It is a quality base ten set made from solid timber. Each unit measures 10 cm (L) x 1 cm (H) x 1 cm (W). Base ten blocks are a versatile math manipulative to introduce students to basic key math concepts including addition, subtraction, number sense, place value and counting. Rods come in a cotton, muslin hand-sewn drawstring bag labeled with the Lumberluxe logo. Rods are made from poplar, pine or oak wood. Make this your own and select the color that best defines your style. *Colors are all glossy finished, unless otherwise specified. WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD - Small parts. Handcrafted from Start to Finish
It's weird how I got started in this hobby turned business, but one day I found myself perusing the Internet in search of a deep seated outdoor bench for our family gatherings. My style is a mix of Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware and West Elm but my budget is more beer than top shelf tequila!
Well that's when I got the wild idea to build the bench myself, so I quickly sketched out a rough drawing and started building. It took me a few days to complete but the end result was AMAZING! I surprised myself and from then on I wanted to learn more. I enrolled in some classes at the local Woodcraft store to enhance my skills. I've grown so much since my first build 6 years ago and with each new project I try to challenge myself to go the extra mile.
My goal at Lumberluxe is to create quality, long-lasting furniture that looks like it cost you thousands but actually is only a fraction of the cost.
