I build handcrafted cremation urns in the countryside of southeast Wisconsin. I started designing and handcrafting high quality solid wood office furniture in 1984.
The business of creating cremation urns found me, not the other way around. I wrote a poem titled "The Keep It Box" The poem grew from an awareness that most treasured memories reside in a small box, or drawer. I never thought of it as a wood urn. I began to build solid cherry wood boxes, with the poem engraved on a pewter plate, which I attached to the lid. Part of the poem states "This is the place where memories live" We found that many people were buying our Keep it boxes as a cremation urn. I was so profoundly touched and honored by the knowledge that our creations are chosen to hold such precious memories. Cremation urns grew to a business from there. Wood urns are warm to the touch. Each of our cremation urns has a hand rubbed finish. Our goal is that the completed cremation urn be a work of art.
The Mood Wood cremation urns have a unique closure system.
In days gone by every town and village had Americans building things to be used, which stood the test of time. Today, many cremation urns are cheap things made only to sell. Mass produced in foreign countries, delivered by the container load.
We at Mood Wood prefer the business model of days gone by. Using the skills acquired through a lifetime of diligent work, and the highest quality materials, to produce handcrafted solid wood urns. Our goal; to create a cremation urn in an artistry that reflects your most treasured memories!

For Pet Urn With Hand Cast Fine Pewter - Side Brackets, And Corners. #5I was really having a hard time finding a special urn for my baby boy Angus, I stumbled upon Bruce's listing and was a little nervous because it is hard to communicate via messages. The first communication he offered his cell phone number, I expressed my concern of size and he made it larger at no extra charge. He even asked for photos so he could look at him while making his special box. Warmed my heart. The urn is perfect! Came fast, packed wonderful and made with such skill. It is exactly what I wanted and cannot thank Bruce enough...

For Pet Urn With Hand Cast Fine Pewter - Side Brackets, Corners, And Picture Frame. #4Beautiful craftsmanship! I recently lost my Great Dane, ASTRO and wanted to find an urn that was as regal as my boy was. When I found this urn I was so excited but I had concerns the 130 cubic inch urn would not be large enough to contain Astro's remains. I sent Bruce an inquiry to see if the urn was available in a larger size. Bruce was very quick to reply that he did if fact have a larger option available. I placed my order with a picture frame and pewter name plate which turned out beautifully! Bruce completed my order within a day and received the urn just 2 days after ordering. The ordering process was extremely smooth and very timely. This is timeless piece I am proud to display now and for years to come!
