This is a lamp table loosely based on the Art Nouveau but again done in my contemporary manner. The black color has a deep rich burgundy background to the black that emanates through. I have made this a number of times, also in various woods and colors. See a white (bleached maple) version here. I am a furniture designer and maker, specializing in unique custom furniture and accessories. Since 1982 I have designed and created furniture commissions here in Oregon and throughout the US. I am a graduate of Fine Arts, with a focus in painting, drawing and sculpture at San Francisco State University in 1974. Essentially self taught I began my career in San Francisco exploring unusual and sculptural furniture. I moved to Portland, Oregon, in 1977.
My passion for the fine arts has always been a significant and contributing inspiration with my furniture designs, in fact for many years my personal work involved story telling with both functional and nonfunctional furniture designs. I have taught at the college level in both furniture and fine art, and have taught many workshops as well. Maybe because of my unusual approach, my willingness to take chances in design, and at times my quirkiness, I have been fortunate enough to be published and featured often in the media, have shown in galleries and museums, and have received numerous awards for my work.
My love and search for a better design isn't confined simply to tables but finds me using chairs, tables, chests, consoles, lighting, candles, menorahs, entry tables, beds and bedroom accessories, coffee or cocktail tables, side tables of all kinds, home accessories of any description to tell my story. My inspirations come from both architectural and environmental interests. Through the years I have explored contemporary and unique versions of many styles such as Art Nouveau, Art Deco, PostModern, Moderne, Modern, Craftsman, Greene and Greene, Shaker, and many more. I love working with my customers as a collaboration, exploring their desires with my unique approach. Let's see what we can come up with next!
Richelle Parker
For Walnut And Curly Maple Jewelry CabinetTerry made me a large jewelry cabinet for storing and organizing my rings, necklaces, and other jewelry. Having had the chest for several months, I could not be happier- it is joy to use and see as it is piece of art. When Terry made the chest, we had several discussions about design, wood to be used, and how to ship. He was available, helpful, and delight to work with. I highly recommend Terry. His work is simply exceptional and very responsive and kept me informed of the progress. He will definitely be my choice for future projects. He deserves 5 stars in all categories.

For Jenica's HutchTerry was incredible to work with - he is a true artist and woodworker. Definitely chose Terry if you're looking to design a unique, perfectly crafted piece! I came in with a general idea about what I wanted, and Terry was able to put together 2 different designs that were both beautiful and functional. After the selection of the design, Terry stayed in communication, even sending progress photos of the unit along the way. He was receptive to any questions or concerns that I had. When I received the piece, I was astounded at the quality and craftsmanship - Terry clearly had put his heart into designing and building this piece! Overall I highly recommend Terry and I'm so happy with my beautiful custom bar unit. Thank you Terry!
