Hemlock drawers inside a painted pine frame. The frame perimeter is painted grey. The interior frame is painted white. The drawers are finished in glossy amber shellac and stainless boat cleats. The piece sits atop steel casters. All drawer have wooden dividers spaced for beer, wine and whisky glasses.

I build contemporary furniture and home furnishings from primarily reclaimed locally sourced woods.
Originally educated and licensed as an architect, I left the profession for a career in technology. But over the years I continued to design and build works. With no room left in the house for new pieces, friends encouraged me to hang a single.
I build modern pieces that unmistakably hand made and highly crafted. If Design Within Reach had a baby that made furniture out of their garage, that would be me.
I prefer reclaimed woods. Thick and tight-grained, salvaged woods can be beautiful in their own right, not simply due to their age or weathering. Successful pieces retain the rescued material's personality yet remain expressly modern.
But I am not religious about material sources. Almost every space needs a painted piece or two.
In addition to the pieces available in the collection, I welcome (prefer) requests for custom pieces.
