Whitewashed Draper's Table/ Kitchen Island Made Of Poplar

$2,500

This beautiful Draper's Table is modeled after an antique French Draper's Table from the early 1900s. These tables were used by upholsterers and seamstresses when laying out fabric. The top measures 90" long (7 1/2'), 27" wide and the table is 37" tall. With a full-width lower shelf and two (2) soft-close drawers, the table provides plenty of storage. The six turned legs are exquisite in their detail and smooth to the touch. The color is best described as cream with some faint green tones. You have to really see it. The entire piece is made from poplar - a somewhat softer wood. This piece is perfect for a dining room, large entryway (bold piece), or as a large kitchen island. It's neutral tones will complement any interior. This item is available for local pickup in Downingtown, PA or we personally deliver our furniture FOR FREE in the Philadelphia region. Paul and Zack Huberty own Miikana Woodworking in Downingtown, PA. This father and son team designs and builds furniture focusing on clean lines, traditional techniques and beautiful hardwoods. Each piece of furniture is carefully handcrafted at their shop in Valentine Edge’s Mill.

Paul started the business in 2015 after spending 27 years in the healthcare industry. A graduate of Penn State University and Drexel University, he has had a love for woodworking since high school. His furniture designs are influenced by Mid Century Modern and Scandinavian furniture makers.

In late 2017, Zack Huberty joined Miikana Woodworking and quickly learned the important aspects of furniture design and handcrafted furniture. Zack graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Finance and Entrepreneurship and owned his own digital media business focused on the motorcycle industry. In addition to furniture design and construction, Zack is responsible for the social media and digital platforms for Miikana, expanding community partnerships, and exploring collaborations with other artisans. Zack also runs Miikana Cutting Boards, a division of Miikana Woodworking that ensures that we responsibly use all of our precious hardwoods. He creates beautiful cutting boards, charcuterie boards, and home goods.

Miikana Woodworking is located in historic Chester County, Pennsylvania. We are proud to join the many Chester County furniture makers that have produced some of the finest pieces since the Revolutionary War. It is this beauty and history that keep us focused on our proud traditions and that inspire us to build the best handcrafted furniture.

Miikana Woodworking is located in Valentine Edge's Mill, built in 1784, which ran as a water-powered grist mill for 134 years. We are honored to share in the history of the mill and it frequently inspires us in our creation of furniture that will last just as long.
