Walnut Coffee Table, Modern Spider Leg Design - Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian Design Influence
Spider Leg Coffee Table shown with Walnut Top and Walnut Legs. 42" (L) x 18" (W) x 15 1/4" (H). My Spider Leg design comes from my interest in making tables where the connection between the legs and the top isn't a straight line. The legs offer a variety of visually intersecting angles without being too busy. The Walnut Legs feature full mortise and tenon joinery for lasting strength. Each leg attaches to the top via 3 bolts through a welded top-plate into threaded brass inserts. The solid Walnut top is 7/8" thick and has a subtle curve in its length and width. The natural finish is Danish Oil with an overcoat of Renaissance Wax buffed to a low luster.

I honed my aesthetic skills while attending The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. I spent 20 years working as an Engineer, where I developed a passion for quality. The constant thread throughout my life has been my love for making things. I "retired" from my Engineering Career to devote my full time efforts to designing and building furniture.
Wayward Home Furniture crafts furniture using a Small Batch Process. The common components of my furniture are made in multiples - allowing an economy of scale while still accommodating the customization my customers' request.

Steve was meticulous in packing the table so that it arrived without any dings or scratches and was very careful in how he crafted the table so that it was extremely easy to assemble. The craftsmanship is gorgeous and leaves absolutely nothing to be desired. Steve was quick and consistent with communication and overall a pleasure to do business with. Can't recommend him highly enough!
