Sutton Projekt was founded in 2014 by woodworker Travis Sutton. He creates each piece of furniture using solid woods and traditional woodworking techniques.
His work is most influenced by the aesthetics of Shaker, Scandinavian, and Japanese designs. He attributes most of his inspirations to all the local woodworkers he observed in Vietnam, Japan, Denmark and Melbourne, Australia during a two-year trip around the world.
As a U.S. Navy veteran his attention to detail is Sutton Projekt’s hallmark. As a second generation woodworker, Travis Sutton has been involved with wood working since the early age of 12.
Although throughout his life he’s had the honor of learning from other master craftsmen, completing North Bennett Street School’s Fine Furniture Intensive Program in Boston, Massachusetts is what he needed to learn traditional furniture-making techniques which he currently uses to make modern wood furniture that relies on time-tested woodworking joinery as its cornerstone.
