Division Lamp

$125

Wooden Lamp entitled "Division" made by Russell of RADLLC. All 4 sides feature the same original geometric pattern, with a similar pattern on the lid. The lamp is 8" tall, 4 1/2" wide, and the cord is about 10' long. The fractal design is original and done by Russell Simpson in AutoCAD, then laser cut out of select birch plywood. Pieces are then sanded clean and stained. Parchment is carefully glued to the back and allowed to fully dry. Lamp mechanism is original and designed by Russell in Rhinoceros, then 3d printed. I then assemble the electric components, lamp mechanism, wooden faces, and wooden support structures with a high level of attention to detail. Lamp is left to run for 24 hours and mechanism is tested extensively. Lamps are fragile in appearance, and should be treated gently, but have proved to be quite robust over several years. The top lid is removable for access to light bulb. Lamp comes with LED bulb and should only be replaced with another LED bulb! All lamps made by RADLLC are handmade and original pieces. Design may be used again in a different lamp, but each piece is unique, signed, and collectible. RADLLC can make custom design lamps. Contact us to get your own design made!

I am a 3 dimensional sculptor of functional art. I work in many materials including wood, stone, steel, and plastics, with modern tools like 3D Printing, laser cutting, and CNC routing, in both the workshop and virtual spaces with VR sculpting software, 3D CAD, & BIM.

I am working on building projects with clients that will improve our world. We need to design things with respect to their social, environmental, and economic impact. This ranges from recycling and manufacturing plastics at home to carefully designing furniture for people & animals that really improves their quality of life, while minimizing their environmental cost.

I am a Master of Architecture, life long sculptor, speaker of Japanese, German, and English, and dedicated to building excellent projects for my clients!
