The 'Plouffe' Modern Farmhouse Table
The Plouffe Table was first created for customer Renel Plouffe for her family home. Measuring 78"x36"x30", it was built to fit 6-8 people comfortably. Constructed out of solid walnut, the piece is built using all wood joinery - no nails or screws in the entire piece. As such, it's also capable of being deconstructed into individual components and reassembled as needed. Completed with a hand-rubbed oil finish, the wood is allowed to age with your family, taking on a slight patina over time. This piece can be customized to your needs, including adjustments to the overall length or width, as well as the wood or woods used in its construction.

Nathan Kolb
Boreal Woodworks
Boreal Woodworks is run by Nathan Kolb, based out of Chattanooga, Tennessee. The company was established in 2013 with the purpose of producing long-lasting furniture, crafts and home goods using the highest quality lumber sourced from the Appalachian region including Walnut, Cherry, and Maple, as well as reclaimed and repurposed old growth woods such as Heart Pine and Red Cedar. Eschewing the preconceived need for unblemished lumber, our methodology instead focuses on highlighting the natural character of the wood used, with all of its 'flaws' and eccentricities.
Trained by master craftsman Bill Carney at the Chattanooga Woodworking Academy, Nathan was taught in the traditional methods of bench joinery and furniture making. He now creates bespoke furniture pieces, as well as casework, built-ins, and smaller home goods.

He made me a very unique table that had a digital screen embedded in its center and communicated with me throughout the entire project, making sure that every detail was right and that any little thing that came up during the build was brought to my attention. He did extra research I never even thought of to make sure the screen wouldn't be damaged in transit. I can't describe how well he created my piece. If anybody needs a project to get taken care of, this is your guy.
