A high-end dining table of solid hardwood construction, this piece is as fit for a family dinner as it is for a group of adventuresome friends. ~~~ Crafted out of solid Cherry, this commissioned piece was built for a dedicated Dungeons & Dragons player who needed a dual-function table - something that could host a full party of adventurers just as easily as a dinner party. The table consists of three sliding leaves that, when removed, reveal the interior 'vault' space. Padded and lined with professional quality worsted wool speed cloth, the vault allows for silent and smooth dice rolls, while a mounted 55" television screen provides the Dungeon Master with the means to customize the playing board on the fly. Complete with 9 built-in cup holders with brass accents, as well as a book tray for the DM guide, the table provides a dedicated space for every player. Boreal Woodworks is run by Nathan Kolb, based out of Chattanooga, Tennessee. The company was established in 2013 with the purpose of producing long-lasting furniture, crafts and home goods using the highest quality lumber sourced from the Appalachian region including Walnut, Cherry, and Maple, as well as reclaimed and repurposed old growth woods such as Heart Pine and Red Cedar. Eschewing the preconceived need for unblemished lumber, our methodology instead focuses on highlighting the natural character of the wood used, with all of its 'flaws' and eccentricities.
Trained by master craftsman Bill Carney at the Chattanooga Woodworking Academy, Nathan was taught in the traditional methods of bench joinery and furniture making. He now creates bespoke furniture pieces, as well as casework, built-ins, and smaller home goods.
