My specialty is furniture refinishing but I also enjoy making custom furniture. Over the years I have been told repeatedly that I missed my calling when it came to the art of wood. I just enjoy any type of carpentry and making others dreams come true.
Dealing with the public all my life first as a salesman during college and have realized over the years that most people are not patient. Quality work is not possible without patience and making sure every detail is covered for pieces to last a lifetime. My pieces are meant to be passed down from generation to generation. This process can not be rushed.
No one is perfect and I don't expect to be, but I strive for perfection in my furniture making process. With a Masters in Special Education and a Masters in Business, I have learned that patience over powers ignorance.

Dec 16, 2020Although it takes longer than what it expected due to COVID-19 over all I’m satisfied. My console table is built very well, very nice, sturdy, and love the color it turned out. Came out more than I expected and and the communicating with maker is ver easy, he responds immediately and willing to work with any changes you wish. Definitely would love to work with the maker in the future. Highly recommend.

Derrick Harris was a true professional craftsman from the initial discussion of my project throughout the process. As a retired 30+ years Sr. Museum Designer I have worked along side of some of the best fabrication people in the business and I have to say Mr. Harris is right up with these folks! He matched the cherry wood to my antiques as well as counseling me on building techniques as well as keeping me up to date on where he was on my project. The Cherry butcher block he made for my newly renovated kitchen is so beautiful I haven't used it. That said, my contractor was so impressed by Derricks work including the cost he is looking into "Custom made" for his future projects. Did I mention Derrick created my dream piece like an expert in the museum packing field truly unbelievable work from start to finish. Derrick Harris is a true Craftsman and I am singing his praise from the mountain. Looking for that special person to make your dream come to life... Look no further!
