My specialty is furniture refinishing but I also enjoy making custom furniture. Over the years I have been told repeatedly that I missed my calling when it came to the art of wood. I just enjoy any type of carpentry and making others dreams come true.
Dealing with the public all my life first as a salesman during college and have realized over the years that most people are not patient. Quality work is not possible without patience and making sure every detail is covered for pieces to last a lifetime. My pieces are meant to be passed down from generation to generation. This process can not be rushed.
No one is perfect and I don't expect to be, but I strive for perfection in my furniture making process. With a Masters in Special Education and a Masters in Business, I have learned that patience over powers ignorance.

He helped us decide on just making the tabletop and helped us find a supplier for the base. We wanted the material to be cherry which had a few challenges since it was a less common wood but the result was beautiful. We love the color and how unique our table is, including how the base fits with the table which was Derrick’s suggestion. All in all if you’re looking for a person to work with you throughout the entire process, Derrick is the person for the job. We had tons of communication back and forth throughout the whole process. We love our table and it’s as unique as it can get!
