Seven Drawer Dresser
To build it correctly to last for generations, a chest of drawers is a complicated piece. The inset drawers need to have a perfect even reveal while gliding smoothly on wood runners. The internal structure of the solid wood drawer support system needs to fit precisely while allowing the solid wood case to expand and contract with seasonal changes in humidity. This chest of drawers embodies not only classic Shaker design elements but also the hallmarks of fine craftsmanship. Although not visible, the case is constructed with dovetail joints at the four corners and sliding dovetails connect the drawer dividers to the sides. The dovetailed drawers are made of solid wood and the back is shiplapped. The finish is oil varnish and wax. Any of these dressers can be customized to fit your space and needs. They can be taller, wider and with more or less drawers. Also available in maple, walnut and ash. As shown in cherry, 36" W x 34" H x 19" D.
