I have been in the Furniture and Millwork industry for 40 years.
I started my career with education in Mechanical Design and working in sheet metal fabrication as a drafter and machinist. (Skills I still use today).
Always having a passion for woodworking I started a furniture manufacturing business specializing in dining room furniture. Over the next 15 years we built over 8000 dining room tables, custom furniture and cabinetry including several high end country club locker rooms. After the difficult decision to close the business i spent the next 15 years as the Millwork Manger for a high end custom Yacht manufacturer.
From there I was the Operations Manager for a high end custom millwork company specializing in residential interiors. Last year I made the decision to get off the "corporate treadmill" and focus my efforts on building custom furniture. I am building a commission backlog as well as speculation pieces. I look forward to meeting new clients through CustomMade.

For Jim's Teak shower bench5.0Mitchell was fantastic! I gave him a picture of what I was looking for, some measurements and requested stainless steel hardware for my teak shower bench. It turned out even better than I expected. He is a true craftsman and I highly recommend using him for your projects. I know he doesn’t normally do this, but he hand delivered the bench to my house just outside of Chicago. I wish I could upload a picture into this review.
