An 18th century laptop! This is a reproduction of the portable writing desk on which Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence on trips between Monticello and Philadelphia in 1776. Solid mahogany with folding, canvas covered writing surface, sliding dovetailed drawer with paper, inkwell, and quill compartments. Finished with garnet shellac & paste wax.
