Fixed Blade Knife Slip Sheath
A Slip Sheath is a simple yet elegant way to show off a knife that you may not carry often. This particular sheath was made for a knife created by Russell Gale, Custom Woodworker in Asheville, NC. Russell contacted me a while back as he was looking for a custom knife sheath maker to create a sheath for a knife he made for a customer in New Jersey. After communicating with the customer this is what we came up with. It is a simple slip sheath made of 3-4 oz. vegetable tanned tooling leather dyed a dark brown. The sheath is lined with red pigskin and the edges have been lightly dyed in order to show off the layering of the blade spacer and filet. I use vegetable tanned tooling leather quite often as it dyes well, molds very well and edges smoothly. This particular sheath design starts at $150.00. You will note in the last photo that this sheath is lined with red pigskin suede. Nice touch!
