Gretsch Oak

$3,500

This guitar has a gorgeous white oak top. I've been storing this oak board in my shop for many years. Oak is generally not used on guitars due to its weight. I reduced the effect a lot by shallow chambering the top to match deeper chambers in the walnut back. Overall the guitar is a comfortable 7.5 lbs. Also, this guitar sports Gretsch HiLo Tron and FilterTron pickups. They are wound to about 4.7 ohms so they are smooth and creamy. I inlayed oak leaves on the back on the back to celebrate the guitar's namesake. All guitars I make come with lifetime maintenance and adjustment to your specification.

I design and build one-of-a-kind, tradition-inspired electric guitars in Sacramento Califorinia. I use "neck-through" construction for its ergonomic playability, superior energy transfer, and undeniable beauty. There is no CNC here, everything is hand-crafted with traditional tools. I often use three woods for the guitar body--great tone woods on top and bottom and a thin wood sandwich between (inspired by George Harrison's Let It Be rooftop guitar). My design/build approach is unique in the world of guitar making as far as I know. Each guitar uses the highest quality components. I build for myself on spec, hoping that player/collectors will like and support what I do. I offer stringed instrument repair and maintenance in the Sacramento area. I will consider commissions on a limited basis.
