Shaker Reflections
I have been crafting unique pieces for nearly 30 years. My journey began in my dad’s workshop, where I built a dining table for my mother-in-law. It wasn’t my finest work, but it sparked my appreciation for the art and discipline of fine furniture making.
Building furniture is my passion, and I take great pride in every piece that leaves my shop. My personal motto is simple: if I’m reluctant to let it go, then I know it’s something truly special.
Most of my work is made from hardwoods like walnut, cherry, and oak—materials chosen for their beauty, durability, and ability to endure for generations. My hope is that the furniture I create becomes something you can pass down to your children or grandchildren.

None of the big box store products met my needs and I decided that I would need someone to build one for me. That's when I chose Ernie Stevenson of Shaker Reflections. I worked with Ernie on the design and dimensions. We have exchanged a series of communications and what made me to trust Ernie is his expertise in choosing the type of wood, stain and poly coats. Ernie gave me a proposal and it was very reasonable compared to other sources that I considered. Upon accepting the proposal, Ernie kept me in loop in every stage sharing the build progress and ETA for completion. I appreciate his professionalism in letting me the status every stage and asking me for opinions on the build. During the build stage, I asked Ernie to make minor adjustment to the build (Not an error on Ernie's side) and he honored my request. I'm very happy and satisfied with Ernie's skill. Jan 10, 2015Ernie did an excellent job. The coffee table looks very good and the grain of the cherry wood is beautiful. Ernie completed the job on time and is a good communicator. In emails, he explained how he would build the coffee table step-by-step. The coffee table will be a good fit with my living room furniture. I am very happy with the coffee table and would work with him again.
