Deep Eddy West, formerly Deep Eddy Studios, has been designing and fabricating furniture for individuals, design firms, architects and institutions since 1983. In 1994 Deep Eddy West formed a sister company which specializes in reproduction and conservation, Deep Eddy Designs. In this capacity we have, and continue to work extensively with the State Preservation Board reproducing and restoring furniture for the Texas State Capitol.

While we build primarily out of wood we don’t consider ourselves purists and are always on the lookout for new materials and techniques and will use them if we believe they are honest, add value to the piece and fall within the budget. Metal laminates, aluminum, glass beads, linoleum and found objects are among these. The techniques used in these projects involve lamination, steam-bending, carving, turning, chemical staining and of course the standard woodworking skills.

Most of our clients have a specific design in mind when they contact us and this results in a portfolio as varied as our clientele. We collaborate with some of the most talented artisans in the Austin area. We believe that being able to work within a network of trusted, highly skilled artisans is an advantage for our customers.

Deep Eddy provides a range of services, from design work to repair. Often our customers will hire us exclusively for our design ideas, CAD drawings or sometimes only for technical know-how.     We are completely satisfied with Jueri and Mara´s work with our cypress stump. Mara renovated the lost colors and gave maintenance to the stump. Final project is the result of live colors and design that our stump once had. They were very fast workers and knew their job as the artists they are. We are pleased with this project final result.     Jueri did an amazing job with our bookcases. Even before I selected him for the project, he demonstrated amazing thoughtfulness and attention to detail in putting together a proposal and design ideas. His professionalism continued throughout the project, as he sent updates with photos on a regular basis, inspiring confidence and giving us the enjoyment of watching our design come to life. We're thrilled with the finished product -- the bookcases look great, including perfect color matching -- and we would absolutely love to do business with Jueri again.

    After searching for weeks for a bathroom vanity that I liked for my bathroom remodel, I decided to take a shot in the dark and post a project on this CustomMade website that I stumbled across. Luckily for me, Jueri responded to my project request and quickly came up with an awesome design for a custom and very unique bathroom vanity that I loved, based on the pictures I sent of other pieces that I liked. Jueri was a pleasure to work with, extremely responsive to each and every e-mail I sent, and communicated with me throughout the entire process, sending pictures of progress, etc. I ended up with a gorgeous custom vanity for a great value, considering what I could purchase in the way of bathroom vanity's for a similar price. Instead I got a solid wood, unique and custom vanity that perfectly matches my bathroom remodel, that I wouldn't have been able to find anywhere. I am very happy with my purchase and if I ever need a custom piece of furniture again, he is definitely the person I would go to, and will recommend him to any of my friends.

    He was professional and responsive. It wasn't cheap but the quality of the product visually was very high -- it certainly looks expensive. I only wish it was measured a little better/tested so that there wasn't splatter when using a normal sized coffee mug / cup. The burden for better measurement/design could have been on me but I expect when I pay this much that a professional thinks about this in more detail than I would. I have to use "grande/venti" size cups to catch the coffee drip without it splashing -- not the end of the world.
