I'm a professional artist specializing in fine art paintings, pet portraits and illustration. I have a fine arts degree with a major in graphic design. I've had over thirty-five years experience in creating custom artwork and design. I create artwork using a wide range of media: traditional watercolor, acrylic, oils, and pen and ink as well as modern hand-painted digital paintings on canvas and archival paper. I use only the highest quality archival materials in creating my work.
Once you choose the subject of your custom painting, we'll work together to make it a reality. Will it be a portrait of your child, a favorite pet or animal, a house portrait or a treasured family memory? I'll closely involve you in the creative process throughout the various stages of painting. With your suggestions and input, every detail will be brought to perfection. It's great fun for you to see your painting develop, and working together in this way we'll create the exact "masterpiece" YOU have in mind!

For Inquiry about a custom pet painting
MJ was such a joy to work with! I had a pretty unique custom pet art project that I wasn't quite sure how to make it into reality, when I found MJ and shared the idea with her, she immediately started providing many ideas, examples and mockups to help me visualize it. She had many choices of the medium too, and we picked a beautiful wood cut out format in the end that I'd never have imagined to begin with! The creation process was smooth and full of fun, not being an artistic person myself, I asked for her expert opinions on many of my thoughts and she's given me such great advice, that the final art piece turned out stunning :) I already have another project in mind that I'd love to work with her on, I'll definitely be coming back to MJ in the near future!

I'm so surprised I never wrote a review for Mary Jill! Her painting of my dog was amazing. He passed away and was more my mother's dog than mine and I wanted to get a painting done of him for her. MJ helped me add the perfect touches (like pawprints in the background) and her mixed media approach got me exactly the quality of painting I was hoping for. 100% would recommend and use her again in the future. I'm SO happy with this work :)

Maker Policies
Shipping Policy
I will ship to the U.S. and Canada. Please contact me if you need a quote for shipping outside the U.S. I generally ship USPS first class or priority for small items, and USPS Priority or Fedex for larger prints and paintings. My artwork and prints are fully insured when shipped and I will send you tracking information when the items are shipped. I carefully package the art so it will arrive in perfect condition, but if any damages occur during shipping please let me know, and also notify the shipping company. I will personally deliver to local buyers.
Maker Policy
Custom work is non-refundable and once in-progress, custom projects cannot be cancelled. For in stock items purchased directly from my portfolio, I offer returns within 15 days of delivery, please message me before returning artwork. Initial shipping costs, and costs for return shipping is at the customer's expense. If you need an item by a specific date or for a specific event, please let me know in advance of accepting a proposal. Your satisfaction is VERY important to me. During the creation process I send images for the client to approve at the initial concept stage, and at many stages during the painting process. Before shipping I'll send you a digital photograph of your new work of art. Unfortunately, I cannot offer returns or exchanges on custom artwork or portraits due to their custom nature and the many hours that go into making them. If you need an item by a specific date or for a specific event, please let me know in advance of accepting a proposal. If one of my pieces arrives to you damaged I will do everything to remedy the situation. Contact me if there's a problem!
