I'm a carpenter and cabinet maker with 40 years' worth of experience as a general contractor and woodworker, who can fashion anything you need out of wood for a renovation or remodeling project.
Over the years, I've renovated two single-family, two-story homes (one of wood, the other of stone), and in 1996 I purchased a barn and made it into a house. I later built my own house and the barn is now an event venue. I make kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, large-scale built-ins and cubbies, kitchen tables, interior and exterior doors, bars, and specialty projects.
I'm a one-man shop and like working with reclaimed barn woods, particularly chestnut, and incorporating architectural finds into new pieces and designs. I just finished a coffee table of yellow pine with a metal base from an old wood stove.
A gardener in my spare time, I built a stone garden wall, rod iron deck railing, and am about done reforesting my property. I've taken an interest in metalworking lately and am making decorative items from pieces of old farm machinery.
Information
Shipping is available by me or through a third-party, depending on size, weight, and distance. The cost of shipping is separate from the cost of material and labor for any particular project.
I'm available to discuss your project ideas with you over the phone and can provide advice on materials, timelines, and cost. I am licensed by the Maryland Home Improvement Commission. Once a project is agreed upon, a third of the price is required to purchase materials and get started; second draws are required before I send the project to the finisher; and the outstanding balance is due upon pickup or delivery. Once a project is under way, I'm flexible enough to work with reasonable changes, with the understanding they may involve additional costs that will need to be paid up front to continue with the project. All completed or abandoned projects are final and nonrefundable. High quality materials and craftsmanship are guaranteed.
