Stools & Stuff

Stools & Stuff is a concept we created when we saw a need to provide educators with alternate options for decorating their classrooms. After spending several years in the common drab of the classroom setting in the inner city, we determined it was time for a change.

We, Emily and Helbert, used to work in the classroom as full-time teachers in Florida. As the years went by, we realized that teaching had us in the same routine day-in and day-out and decided to make a change. While Helbert works with a nonprofit organization, I have transitioned to making Stools & Stuff my full-time job while caring for my mom with ALS. This business has allowed us to have the freedom of taking care of the family while making an income and truly focusing on our craft for our customers.

Stools & Stuff specializes in handmade custom high-quality stools, chairs, and other furniture which brings to life classic American children's books and other themes. The art found in children's books will no longer be limited to two-dimensional pages, bringing the characters to life! Stools & Stuff will add a touch of magic to each classroom, home, or office.

These stools are purchased at stores and then coated with white primer paint and painted to represent various themes. We use acrylic paint, various gel and paint markers, and any materials for the corresponding stools like hot glue, gems, and paper with photographs. Currently, we have The Cat In The Hat, The Giving Tree, Charlie Brown and other popular classroom themes. We will be launching Classic Storybook Characters, College Football Teams, Military, and popular television and cartoon character themes. We also offer a specially handcrafted completely customized stool for those who want very specific stools. We've created a custom stool for a local Miami musician and for a teacher who had a unique classroom theme. These custom and personalized stools are extremely unique and one-of-a-kind.

These stools take anywhere from 8-10 hours to create so we ensure that the stools are shipped with care and made with love.
