Great service

This Maker has consistently demonstrated excellence in craftsmanship and customer service.

I am a furniture designer and maker, specializing in unique custom furniture and accessories. Since 1982 I have designed and created furniture commissions here in Oregon and throughout the US. I am a graduate of Fine Arts, with a focus in painting, drawing and sculpture at San Francisco State University in 1974. Essentially self taught I began my career in San Francisco exploring unusual and sculptural furniture. I moved to Portland, Oregon, in 1977.

My passion for the fine arts has always been a significant and contributing inspiration with my furniture designs, in fact for many years my personal work involved story telling with both functional and nonfunctional furniture designs. I have taught at the college level in both furniture and fine art, and have taught many workshops as well. Maybe because of my unusual approach, my willingness to take chances in design, and at times my quirkiness, I have been fortunate enough to be published and featured often in the media, have shown in galleries and museums, and have received numerous awards for my work.

My love and search for a better design isn't confined simply to tables but finds me using chairs, tables, chests, consoles, lighting, candles, menorahs, entry tables, beds and bedroom accessories, coffee or cocktail tables, side tables of all kinds, home accessories of any description to tell my story. My inspirations come from both architectural and environmental interests. Through the years I have explored contemporary and unique versions of many styles such as Art Nouveau, Art Deco, PostModern, Moderne, Modern, Craftsman, Greene and Greene, Shaker, and many more. I love working with my customers as a collaboration, exploring their desires with my unique approach. Let's see what we can come up with next!

For Jenica's Hutch

Terry was incredible to work with - he is a true artist and woodworker. Definitely chose Terry if you're looking to design a unique, perfectly crafted piece! I came in with a general idea about what I wanted, and Terry was able to put together 2 different designs that were both beautiful and functional. After the selection of the design, Terry stayed in communication, even sending progress photos of the unit along the way. He was receptive to any questions or concerns that I had. When I received the piece, I was astounded at the quality and craftsmanship - Terry clearly had put his heart into designing and building this piece! Overall I highly recommend Terry and I'm so happy with my beautiful custom bar unit. Thank you Terry!

Richelle Parker

For Walnut And Curly Maple Jewelry Cabinet

Terry made me a large jewelry cabinet for storing and organizing my rings, necklaces, and other jewelry. Having had the chest for several months, I could not be happier- it is joy to use and see as it is piece of art. When Terry made the chest, we had several discussions about design, wood to be used, and how to ship. He was available, helpful, and delight to work with. I highly recommend Terry. His work is simply exceptional and very responsive and kept me informed of the progress. He will definitely be my choice for future projects. He deserves 5 stars in all categories.

Shipping Policy

In the Portland area and for much of the Northwest I can deliver personally. Outside of this area I use commercial shippers for large items, and major carriers for smaller pieces. Contact me for information about the best means for your commission.

Maker Policy

As my work is essentially a one of a kind commission, each project is unique and the timeline required to do the finest possible piece varies because of its size or detailing required. I also treat each of my customers individually and don't take on more than one significant project at a time. Each commission is placed in order of its position received in the timeline and will receive my undivided attention until complete and shipped. I will make every effort to give you an estimate of completion dates, but ask that you have patience because the end result has to not only satisfy you but must also satisfy me to be the very latest and best piece in my portfolio. Once our design and negotiations are complete, and the project begins, deposits are not returnable. Custom work is non-refundable and once in-progress, custom projects cannot be cancelled. Your excitement and satisfaction with my creation is of the utmost importance, my process includes communication along the way and often can include photos of the process, if desired, in order for you as my customer to be informed as the project develops.
