I am an artist who creates custom paintings and drawings. My real joy is painting portraits of people of any age. I aim to create a likeness but even more important is to discover the spark, personality, expression, and spirit of the viewer. I work in oil, watercolor, pastel, graphite or charcoal. My style would be called expressive.
I have been painting and teaching 2D arts in college, museum, and community settings for over 18 years. I have been showing and selling my art in galleries, museums, and community settings nationally and internationally for 30 years.
I pride myself at being a good listener and will work with you to achieve the results you are imagining. Ideally I would start out working from life with sketches and photographs and then complete the work in my studio. I also can work from your photographs if there is a special image you have in mind. There is nothing like owning an original portrait of a loved one. Please inquire.

Maker Policies
Shipping Policy
The client is responsible for shipping costs. I pack the painting carefully myself. Then normally I ship by FedEx within the USA. For international clients we can discuss options. I will find out the shipping cost in advance and add it to the cost of the painting.
Maker Policy
Because portraits are time consuming and custom-ordered, I require a 50% non-refundable deposit before I begin the work. The balance is due upon receipt of the portrait. I aim to make an artwork that meets your highest expectations. However in the case that you are not happy with the painting, you may return it and not pay the balance.
