I have always had a passion for woodworking. I have been working with wood in one form or another since I was 16 years old. I spent my high school summers and the following 5 years working for a general contractor doing remodels, additions and homes in the Boulder, CO area. My favorite part of that was always doing the custom stuff. Built in entertainment centers, bookshelves, custom cabinets and handrails. So I spent the next few years working for a high end cabinet and millwork shop doing most of their work in the Aspen, CO area. With access to an array of tools and lots of "scrap" wood It was here that my love of fine furniture and my skills really developed. Slowly my own tool collection grew and so did my desire to get away from production work and more into hand crafted custom items, and making the kind of stuff that gets passed down from generation to generation.

I have been pursuing my passion nearly full time on my own for five years now. I say "nearly" because with my wife working part time, I am blessed enough to get to spend three days a week with my two beautiful kids.

I enjoy all types and styles of furniture, from Arts and crafts & Greene and Greene to modern and contemporary. I will tackle all types of projects from big to small. I've done everything from entertainment centers, to jewelry and keepsake boxes, dining tables, coffee tables, chairs, blanket chests, dressers, custom trim, shelving, and mantels. I've even done a couple of really nice pet coffins. : (

I really like seeing my visions come to life in the form of fine furniture, and turning a stack of rough lumber into something beautiful that will last a lifetime. I would love to build something custom for you, and help you make your vision come to life as well.

    The finished product looked AMAZING! Everyone who has seen it is in awe. Lucas took the time to look for softball bats and balls so that the product would be perfect for the recipient.     I enjoyed working with Lucas Brown. He was receptive to my ideas and very easy to communicate with. Even though I asked him to make adjustments several times, he gave me detailed drawing at each step. The finished shelves exceeded my expectations. Because he is a local artist, we could work closely together to match the finish to my other pieces. He even hung the shelves for me and was very precise in his work. I felt he not only cared about his work, he cared about me and treated me with respect and consideration. I highly recommend him as a professional artisan. I will definitely have him do woodworking for me in the future.
