Inspired by the great designers and woodworkers
from the early modern movement, my pieces are created with simple clean lines and subtle curves.
These elements emphasize my belief that thoughtful design creates uncluttered, functional,
and beautiful pieces of furniture.
I have a background in metalworking/welding, and am a graduate of Haywood Community College's Crafts program for woodworking and furniture making. Together these skills allow me to work with both media, combining the strength of steel with the beauty of wood.
I live in Asheville North Carolina, and I am constantly surrounded by the natural beauty of the Appalachian mountains. As a furniture maker, I strive to put some of that beauty into every piece that I create.
The goal of Modernist Woodworking is to provide our clientele with handcrafted, thoughtfully designed, heirloom quality furniture that is built to last a lifetime.

For Walnut And Ambrosia Maple Floating NightstandAmazing craftsmanship!! Could not be any happier with the piece! I have pretty high expectations but I was blown away when I got it. We ended up moving it to a more visible location because it was so beautiful. The attention to detail was incredible and it was probably the best-packaged shipment I've ever gotten. If you're thinking of working with him on your project.....DO IT!!! You will not be disappointed.

For Walnut And Spalted Maple ChairWe're beyond pleased with two lovely walnut and spalted maple chairs handcrafted by Benjamin Rosenberg to match an image on his CustomMade web pages. Ben is an extraordinarily skilled furniture maker who deeply cares about the quality of his work. He is attentive to all the important details that distinguish fine furniture: his joinery and finish, for instance, are impeccable. The chairs are tightly made and flawless: they exhibit sensitive aesthetic judgment and mindfulness in the selection of grain and color -- the matching of two spalted maple seats and backs to display an interesting figure. Ben also is an excellent communicator who kept us informed of the chairs' progress at every step. It's a pleasure to work with someone who exhibits such high standards of professional integrity in addition to world class skill. Completion and delivery took a bit longer than anticipated, but the beautiful chairs we received were well worth the wait.
