Growing up in Iowa, Andy spent many hours in his garage taking apart drums, cutting, drilling, sanding, and putting them back together only to experiment how certain things effect the tone of the drum. He quickly realized how much he loved working with wood, and building with his hands.

After high school Andy moved to Minneapolis, MN to find himself working at a furniture restoration shop. “I loved repairing old furniture, and giving it a new life, but one day it hit me. I had seen the carcass of chairs and tables so many times I thought to myself ‘…I could build that…I want to build.’

From there, Andy fled Minneapolis and moved to Denver, CO to study Fine Woodworking at Red Rocks Community College. Since then, Andy has not only learned the trade through school, but from working in unheated shops in Northern Colorado with an architect & designer, to furnishing million dollar houses in Denver, and now creating one-of-a-kind pieces for clients all over the country.

Rovan Furniture is a Minneapolis-based design/make studio. Dedicated, but not limited to contemporary design, Rovan can build any piece to fit your desired aesthetic as well as create a functional piece of furniture that enhances the life of your home or workspace.

    Andy was a pleasure to work with from the beginning. He was easy to work with to get to a concept and contributed great ideas to improve the quality if the product. He completed the project more than 2 weeks early. The table is beautiful and I could not be more happy with the quality of the piece and how the design elements turned out. Andy hand delivered the table even offered his professional advise on other pieces we are considering. I highly recommend Andy and will work with him on more upcoming projects.

    Before working with Andy I had spent several weeks (with no luck) searching for the right media stand/credenza that had the proper scale for my space. When I saw some of Andy's other pieces I immediately appreciated his design aesthetic. In contacting him, we discussed several potential designs based on my functional needs and collaborated nicely. I couldn't be happier with the outcome!!! He worked quickly and the quality was extremely high for the price. Shipping was a little pricey but I live several states away and he is a small business owner so it is to be expected. I would definitely work with him again.
